A day after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 24-17 and finishing a disappointing 7-9 on the season the Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Jim Mora.
Jim Mora led the Falcons to the NFC Championship in 2004 but the next two years Atlanta failed to make it to the playoffs. In both seasons the Falcons started the season off strong but fell apart in the second half of the season.
The Falcons dropped six of their last eight games in 2005 to finish 8-8 and this year they lost seven of their last nine games to seal Mora’s fate.
