Amanda Bynes’ car was seized and impounded by California authorities Sunday after she was caught driving with a suspended license near the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. It is unclear what prompted police to pull Bynes over. The actress was not arrested.
"I can confirm that Amanda Bynes was cited at approximately 8:20 a.m. Sunday for driving with a suspended license. Her car was impounded and she received a misdemeanor citation. She was not arrested. I believe she was by herself. This occurred on Hollywood Way, just south of the main entrance to the Bob Hope Airport,” Victor Gill of the Burbank Airport Police confirms in a statement to People magazine.
Bynes’ license was suspended earlier this month in the wake of two hit-and-run charges and a previous DUI charge. The 26-year-old’s DUI arrest occurred on April 6 when she crashed into a police car in West Hollywood and refused a breathalyzer test. Four days later she allegedly fled the scene of an accident on an L.A. freeway. On August 4, Bynes reportedly rear-ended a car and left the scene.
The actress is due in court on September 27. She could face up to 1 year in jail for the hit-and-run charges.
Bynes is perhaps best known for starring on the Nickelodeon shows "All That" and "The Amanda Show." Her film credits include "What a Girl Wants," "She’s The Man," "Hairspray" and "Easy A."
