Jones McClure Publishing Announces Settlement with Push Legal

Baird Craft, President of Jones McClure Publishing, today announced that Jones McClure has resolved litigation against Texas Legal Apps, LLC (doing business as Push Legal) pending in Federal District Court. The lawsuit accused Push Legal of illegally copying Jones McClure’s popular “O’Connor’s” legal deskbooks. “We are pleased that Push Legal has acknowledged that it copied our works, and that it regrets doing so” stated Mr. Craft.

Push Legal founders Jonathan J. Paull and Alex Torry also were pleased to see the case resolved. “We determined that certain of Push Legal’s contract content developers had copied Jones McClure’s books, we’ve apologized to Jones McClure Publishing, and we have now completely corrected the copied portions” stated Paull and Torry. “We are very excited about our new product, and look forward to focusing on providing our customers with great content.”

The remaining terms of the settlement are confidential. Trial attorney Armistead Easterby, representing Jones McClure Publishing, stated “the settlement was fair and we are pleased with the result.” Push Legal’s trial attorney, K.A.D. “Kiwi” Camara, stated “the settlement was in the best interests of Push Legal.”
