Sale of Newport Luxury Harborfront Estate

Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty announced the sale of “Ship’s Watch,” 100 Washington Street in Newport, Rhode Island.  The waterfront property located in The Point section of Newport, sold for $4,000,000, making it the highest transaction on The Point and one of the top five highest real estate sales in Newport County this year to date.

The unique 7,000 sq. ft. shingle-style residence, created by the combination of existing side-by-side condominium units, has six bedrooms and 6 ½ baths and includes a dock on Newport Harbor.  Exquisite attention to detail during the renovation resulted in beautiful details throughout and iconic west-facing views of the harbor, Newport Bridge, three lighthouses, and sunsets over Narragansett Bay.

David Huberman of Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty represented the sellers and Virginia Baldwin, also of Gustave White Sotheby’s, brought the buyer.

“Since the beginning of the year, Rhode Island real estate has seen fourteen sales over three million dollars,” commented co-owner Paul Leys.  “At this point last year, there had been only eight sales in that price range.  The sale of “Ship’s Watch” provides further evidence that the luxury real estate market, at least in resort waterfront locations such as Newport RI, has indeed strengthened.”
