Days after being confirmed as a coach for season 4 of The Voice, Shakira has some more special news. The Colombian singer confirmed Wednesday she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Gerard Pique.
“As some of you may know, [boyfriend] Gerard [Piqué] and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!” the 35-year-old wrote.
“At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days,” she added. “This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival … I’d like to thank Clear Channel and my fans for their constant love and understanding. Big kiss!”
No other details on the singer’s pregnancy were released. Shakira’s announcement comes several months after rumors of her pregnancy first surfaced. Last month, Colombia’s Gente magazine reported Shakira and Pique, a center back for FC Barcelona, are expecting a son in January.
