AP Top 25 Week 9; Men’s NCAA College Baketball
UCLA, North Carolina, Florida, Wisconsin, and Duke hold on to Top Five Spots as the AP Top 10 remains the same in Week 9.
UCLA survived a scare from Washington State on Thursday and blew out then #14 Washington on Sunday to keep the #1 ranking in this week’s AP Top 25. The Bruins will take on Oregon State on Thursday before taking on #16 Oregon on Saturday.
The North Carolina Tar Heels used a pair of blowouts to maintain their #2 spot in the AP Top 25. The Tar Heels dismantled Rutgers on Thursday 87-48 and then beat Dayton 81-51 on Sunday. North Carolina will face Pennsylvania on Wednesday before facing ACC foe Florida State on Sunday.
Despite a narrow 75-70 victory over UAB on Saturday the Florida Gators held on to the #3 ranking in the AP Polls. The Gators face Liberty on Tuesday and then face SEC opponent Georgia on Saturday.
Wisconsin followed up their 58-point dismantling of Gardner-Webb on Wednesday with a 10-point victory over Georgia on Sunday to hold the #4 spot this week. The Badgers will face off against Minnesota on Saturday.
The Duke Blue Devils held strong to their #5 ranking this week after beating San Jose State 70-51 on Sunday. Duke faces the Temple Owls on Tuesday and then will take on Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Ohio State used a 91-54 win over Coppin State on Saturday to hold on to the #6 spot and prepare for conference play this week. The Buckeyes will square off against Big Ten opponents Indiana on Tuesday and Illinois on Saturday.
The Wildcats of Arizona held their ground this past week to keep the #7 spot in the AP Top 25. Their perfect week included wins over California on Thursday and Stanford on Saturday. They will face #24 Washington on Thursday and then Washington State on Saturday.
Alabama beat Lipscomb on Friday to hold their #8 spot in this week’s AP Poll. The Crimson Tide beat Oklahoma on Monday and will face SEC rival Arkansas on Saturday.
