Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Inspire New Television Series
With the success of the Hollywood film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” firmly established, ABC has opted to make the Brad Pitt / Angelina Jolie blockbuster into a television series.
Just who will play the pair of married assassins, John and Jane Smith, has yet to be determined but the story line is expected to pick up where Pitt and Jolie left off. Apparently the television couple will be purchasing a home in the suburbs and settling into the routine of married life, all while maintaining their jobs as professional assassins.
The one-hour pilot was written by Simon Kinberg, the same man who wrote the script for the film. He has described the new series as “'Married...With Children' with guns.” He went on to tell the Hollywood Reporter, “In a way, the show is all about the marriage. It is a show about any married couple trying to balance professional and home life.”
No date has been set for the pilot episode.
