When community-minded
organizations come together to support each other's missions we all
win, which is why the folks at Amber Alert Registry (AAR) are so pleased
to announce their latest collaborative partners, Autism Speaks and Deliver
the Dream. “Our goal is to be a major force in giving back to
the community,” says AAR Vice President Zephora Haddon. “We're
proud to be a social fundraising company for schools and non-profits
because we believe it's the right way to conduct business.”
All three organizations
have a common theme: promoting the safety and emotional well-being
of children and their families. Amber Alert Registry provides
a secure website for proactive parents and caregivers to store crucial
data – including medical information – online. Parents can than allow emergency personnel access to the data at the click of a mouse in an emergency. Deliver
the Dream offers support and respite retreats for families facing a
crisis or serious medical issue. And Autism Speaks is the nation's
largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding
research, increasing awareness, and advocating for the needs of individuals
with autism and their families.
“Many of
our kids and adults tend to wander, and our kids can be drawn to water,”
says Jaclyn Merens, Autism Speaks South Florida Regional Director.
“With AAR we have the ability in a panic situation to upload up information
immediately and get it to the authorities.” Merens knows first-hand
what that panic feels like, and is a firm believer in the benefit of
Amber Alert Registry. "If I'd had this for my son a few years
back when he got lost at the mall for 4 ½ hrs it would have made things
so much easier."
As part of
their collaboration, Amber Alert Registry has made it easy to support
Autism Speaks and Deliver the Dream by committing to the partnership
financially. Annual AAR registration costs $19.95 for the first
child and an additional $4.95 for each sibling. At checkout
on the AAR website, a drop-down menu allows purchasers to choose which
partner they wish to support. Amber Alert Registry then donates
$5.00 directly to the organization. It's a simple yet effective
model, and Deliver the Dream Executive Director Paul Withrow is excited
about the potential. “Deliver the Dream and AAR have established
themselves as organizations who care deeply for the welfare of children
and their families. By joining forces, we are able to share our
resources with those who might otherwise have been unaware of the services
available to them.” Adds Merens of Autism Speaks, “For us
to be able to work with AAR and give our families one more piece of
the puzzle that can give them peace of mind is invaluable.”
According to
AAR’s Haddon, this is just the beginning. "We're always
looking for more opportunities to support the community. Amber
Alert Registry is actively seeking additional collaborative partnerships
with 501c3's, and we also offer no-cost fundraising programs for schools."
