Mario Lopez Announced as Host of Miss America Pageant
The 86th annual Miss America Pageant will be hosted by actor Mario Lopez according to event organizers. The announcement was made earlier today that the “Dancing With the Stars” runner-up will get top billing at the Las Vegas event to be aired Jan. 29 from the Aladdin Resort & Casino
While the 33-year-old actor/dancer will be entrusted with the hosting duties, he isn’t quite ready to commit to any singing. Speaking about the possibility of singing the famous theme song “There She Is, Miss America” Lopez said “I really don't sing, I like to sing, but I don't sing well.”
Last year’s pageant featured a recording of longtime host Bert Parks singing the popular tune.
Lopez hosted the 2003 Miss Teen USA pageant.
