New Therapeutic Office Chairs Promote Spine Health

Millions of people sit in an office chair eight hours a day, five days a week. As reports of back-pain continue to rise across the nation, many are looking for a better long-term solution. It typically takes many years of sitting in a bad chair until you actually notice the back pain. Regular office chairs offer little to no relief for office workers with back pain.

In recent years there have been many new and exciting innovations in this market, but nothing too revolutionary. Many office workers still aren’t getting necessary back support for good spine health. Their posture is also negatively impacted due to their stagnant position.

When the lower vertebrae of the back are slouched over for a long period of time, the back begins to stress. This stress typically leads to back pain or a herniated disc. In order to counter this, the height of the office chair must be moved so that the hips are resting slightly higher than the knees. To improve posture, it is recommended that the shoulder blades and mid and lower back touch the back of the chair.

Doctors recommend getting office chairs for bad backs such as the TheraChair. Unlike other office chairs, these chairs share some unique qualities: movement control, maximum comfort and user customization. All while keeping your back in good health.

Most office chairs that are new to the market allow users to adjust the height and tilt of the chair. Adjustable tension is also a recent innovation to therapeutic office chairs. New office chairs can also adjust easily to complement the movements of the worker in order to maximize comfort and prevent further back problems. This complementary movement also keeps the spine aligned.

Office chairs that conform to the spine are among some of the newest innovative designs. The idea behind these chairs is that each person’s back is different so they will need different kinds of support. There is no one size fits all when it comes to office chairs so they need to be adjustable.

Another new aspect to therapeutic office chairs is an oscillating massage device. This device is used to increase the user’s blood flow and circulation and relax muscles that have tightened up while sitting. Massaging devices have become quite popular in newer models of office chairs. Many of these massage chairs are expensive but the benefits will ultimately outweigh the costs.

A new innovative therapeutic office chair exists today, called the TheraCHAIR. The TheraCHAIR is designed to promote Spine Wellness Training, which helps to keep the spine aligned. Its Monitoring Program boasts a 90% long-term success rate.

TheraCHAIR office chairs conform to different types of backs and spines. No two spines are alike and neither are people’s comfort levels. The TheraCHAIR design offers much spine support for its users and complete customization of the chair. Its innovative design gives the user sturdy lumbar support and has a built-in exercise device to encourage proper posture.

TheraCHAIR is designed and produced by the company UPRIGHT which is the first company to offer these unique and custom office chairs that will suit the needs of everyone. UPRIGHT was founded by physical therapist Michael V. Halliday. The company aims to relieve the pain of sitting in an office chair and prevent future back problems by correcting posture and creating quality office equipment.

The TheraCHAIR starts its pricing at $799 and can be ordered online. Each TheraCHAIR order includes a 10-year warranty on parts, Spine Wellness Training DVD, a do-it-yourself Fit Kit and customer support. Customers can also buy the TheraCHAIR in local stores but those prices start at $999. The local purchase includes a measurement and assessment of the spine, delivery and installation of the chair and a personalized configuration of the workspace.
