AC Moore Arts & Crafts Inc. said on Thursday it posted a wider second-quarter loss as same-store sales sank in the recession. AC Moore's loss for the three months ended July 4 was $8.1 million, or 38 cents per share, compared with a loss of $4.3 million, or 21 cents per share, last year. Sales declined 17 percent to $104.4 million from $126.4 million because of fewer operating stores and a 13.8 percent drop in same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least one year.
