Two guards accused of capturing the video of Saddam Hussein’s execution have been identified by investigators. An aide to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said “Two Justice Ministry guards have been arrested. Other guards have identified them as having filmed the hanging.”
Saddam Hussein was executed last Friday after being sentenced to death for ordering the killings of 148 Shiites in the northern Iraqi city of Dujail in 1982.

While there was wide spread condemnation over the decision to execute the dictator, the series of events that unfolded resulted in outrage. Sunni Arabs loyal to Saddam protested the manner in which the former Iraqi leader was executed and even more upset over the video of Hussein being executed.
The Iraqi government was quick to condemn the actions of the guards who used a cell phone to video the execution. Almost immediately after the video surfaced on internet sites such as Finditt Videos an investigation was launched by officials. On Thursday Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani said “The investigation is ongoing and we have identified those who flouted the rules ... Even for a dictator like Saddam, the law must be obeyed.”
