Shortly after TMZ posted pictures of Jason Aldean kissing and cozying up to a woman at a West Hollywood bar, the country singer owned up to the cheating scandal on his official Facebook page. In a post Sunday night, Aldean admitted that he “acted inappropriately” with a woman after having too much to drink. Aldean, who is married to his high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery, did not identify the woman, but TMZ identified her as Charlotte Bobcats cheerleader and season 11 American Idol hopeful Brittany Kerr.
“Hey Guys – I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites. The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar,” the 35-year-old wrote. “I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
Aldean has been married to Ussery for 11 years. They have two daughters together, 9-year-old Keeley and 5-year-old Kendyl. Aldean’s next album, Night Train, is set to be released on October 16.
Kerr has not commented.
