Nercon Eng. & Mfg., Inc. will showcase its new Conveyor Changeover Efficiency Loop with safety- and energy-monitoring demonstrations at Pack Expo – Chicago, Booth N4036. Pack Expo is one of the largest process and packaging shows in the world, and is being held at McCormick Place-Chicago, Oct. 28 – 31, 2012.
The racetrack-configured conveyor loop displays a variety of Nercon’s adjustable guide rail assemblies, from manual to fully automated control solutions. The quick changeover conveyor loop demonstration will help manufacturers with multiple stock-keeping units discover strategies for increasing production efficiencies. Nercon’s quick changeover conveyor loop allows users to test and compare several levels of changeover solutions, including quickset bracket assemblies, set-in rails, hand-wheel adjustable guide rails, and push-button automatic guide rails.
As part of the demonstration, an Allen-Bradley PanelView™ Plus 6 HMI (Human Machine Interface) allows attendees to try the interface and simply push a button for the pre-programmed recipe and package size change for the automatic rail adjustment. Attendees can also test out the HMI’s featured access to stored layout documents, mechanical drawings and reference manuals.
Also showcased on the Changeover Efficiency Loop, users can learn how to improve their bottom line through energy-monitoring demonstrations. The display shows power consumption over EtherNet/IP to demonstrate energy efficiencies on two different drive designs: worm versus helical bevel gearing.
