Hurricane Jimena Path: Headed for Baja California

Hurricane Jimena is expected to strike the Mexican peninsula of Baja California on Tuesday evening. The “extremely dangerous” category 4 hurricane is packing winds close to 155 mph, forecasters said early Tuesday. In addition to strong winds, Jimena could bring as much as 15 inches of rain.

The Mexican government issued a hurricane warning northward along the west coast of the peninsula and east to Loreto. The peninsula is directly in Jimena’s path.

Jimena is the 10th named storm of the Pacific season.
