Lindsay Lohan underwent surgery on Thursday to have her appendix removed after doctors diagnosed her recent illness as appendicitis. The Hollywood star of films such as “Mean Girls,” “Freaky Friday,” “A Prairie Home Companion,” and “Bobby” visited a hospital on Wednesday after falling ill.
Doctors performed an appendectomy on Thursday and Lohan is expected to be taking it easy over the next few days.
Over the past year Lohan has found herself in hospitals for such ailments as a fractured wrist, heat exhaustion, asthma attack and cutting her leg. The recently sober Lohan had gained a reputation as a wild child and has had public disputes with Paris Hilton, Hillary Duff, and Nicole Richie.
