Midwest financial wellness company, Four Seasons Financial Education, has recently expanded its reach from East to West coast in response to the growing demand for workplace financial wellness. A recent survey by the Society for Human Resource Management found one-third of employers reported increased demand from employees for financial education.
Since the Great Recession in 2008, Americans have been dealt tremendous economic volatility, decreases in income, and rapidly changing regulation. In turn, American businesses have seen this added stress affect their employees and have begun to incorporateworkplace financial education into their benefits. With a limited number of non-sales based financial education providers in the US, Four Seasons has responded quickly by adding personnel and expanding their territory range.
“We have seen a rapid increase in the number of companies seeking to address the financial concerns of employees,” says Travis W. Freeman, President and founder of Four Seasons Financial Education. “Whether we like it or not, we need money for nearly everything in life – college, food, vacation, retirement – and putting it all together is very complex. Just as becoming healthier is good for both employers and employees, so is having good financial health, “says Freeman.
Companies like J.W. Terrill of St. Louis, MO have already addressed this employee concern. Employees at Terrill have been enjoying comprehensive financial wellness programs since 2007. “Our employees always leave their financial wellness trainings with a sense of comfort and confidence,” says H.R. Manager, Datra DeNoyer. “The recession has really shaken up their families, so they appreciate that we provide them with a benefit they can use to help improve their lives.”
