Peoples Flowers and Bridgewater Candles Fight Orphan Hunger with Honduras Service Project

Peoples Flowers proudly stocks Bridgewater Candles, scented candles with a special mission. The Light a Candle Feed a Child Program means that every jar candle sold feeds a child for a day through a partnership with Rice Bowls, a nonprofit that aids orphans in developing countries.

Monica Martinez, Peoples Flowers' human resource manager, will have the opportunity to see first-hand how Albuquerque's finest flower shops are helping orphans in Honduras. Martinez was chosen from thousands of Bridgewater authorized dealers to travel to the Honduran orphanage this month and join in a service project to deliver much-needed supplies.

“I am so excited to see and meet the children that we are helping by selling these candles,” said Martinez. “This is going to be a great thing to show our customers as well. I really want to get to know the children so I can bring their stories back with me and put faces with the children we are helping.”

Bridgewater candles are available at Peoples retail locations in Albuquerque. These beautiful candles are making a real impact on the lives of children around the world.
