Osi Umenyiora misses practice

On Monday, New York Giants defensive Osi Umenyiora missed practice.  Not only did he miss practice, but he failed to give his coach Tom Coughlin a reason why.  He attended meetings in the morning at the team’s headquarters, and left.  He was expected to return for the workout, but did not return.  It’s rumored that the reason he skipped was due to a prior argument with the new defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan.  Bill replaced Steve Spagnuolo.  The argument reportedly stemmed from Sheridan criticizing Umenyiora for making a mistake on Saturday’s night’s game.

Since the absence Umenyiora was contacted via text message, and he stated that he was ok.  This will be considered an unexcused absence, and will most likely lead to a fine for Umenyiora.
