Donald Trump Hopes Feud with Rosie O’Donnell to Sparks “The Apprentice” Ratings

Set to begin season six of his reality show “The Apprentice,” Donald Trump may be hoping that his very public feud with Rosie O’Donnell will be his ace up the sleeve for television ratings.

The new season of “The Apprentice” is set in Los Angeles, California and will air Sunday at 9:30 pm EST. Trump filmed the first five seasons in New York and while the show maintained strong ratings, it was evident that the public was growing a bit tired of the Donald’s signature phrases and ubiquitous presence in all things media. With the move to LA the show looks to throw a new coat of paint on the same wall.

This time Trump is pulling his daughter into the mix. Ivanka Trump will oversee the tasks and report back to her father accomplishments and failures of each team. She will be sitting alongside him in the boardroom as well, no word if it’s on the right hand side though.

With LA comes LA prizes and tat means Trump has tried to spice up some of the rewards for the challenges he issues to the applicants. The winner of the challenge in week two will get to party at the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner.

Trump will be pulling out all the stops and trying to capitalize on a new, younger market to bring his show back to the top. His public feud with Rosie O’Donnell which included Trump calling her “fat” and “disgusting” as well as other choice words may have left a sour taste in the public’s mouth.

Donald received a lot of negative feedback for his willingness to allow Tara Conner to keep her Miss USA title despite behavior that could have had her dropped. In one season of “The Apprentice” Trump told a contestant that he would not want to hire a man that chewed tobacco yet he seemed to have no problems with an under-age pageant queen boozing it up in New York while representing his Miss USA crown.

The Apprentice airs on Sunday at 9:30 pm EST on NBC.
