Shooting in School Parking Lot Leaves Two Students Wounded

Two students attending a Las Vegas high school were wounded earlier today when gunshots were fired in their Western High School parking lot.

Police have indicated that the gunman was not a student but rather a man who had been in a driving altercation with three teenagers who attend the school. The teens were traveling in a green Pontiac Grand Am a few blocks from campus when their vehicle nearly hit the man driving a blue Mustang.

After words were exchanged between the occupants of the two cars the man driving the Mustang followed the trio of teenagers to the school and shot five rounds at the Grand Am before speeding off.

One of the students in the Grand Am was struck in the ankle while a female student walking through the parking lot was struck in the abdomen. Both students were taken to University Medical Center with wounds that appeared non life-threatening.

Police reported that the shooting was not school-related or gang-related. They are currently looking for the driver of the blue Mustang.
