Regions Bank Shares the Good in October through Volunteering and Giving Back to Local Communities

Earlier in the month, Regions Bank associates across the 16 states that Regions serves kicked off Regions’ annual Share the Good campaign, a company-wide focus on giving back to the communities the bank serves – through service, education, and volunteerism.

During Share the Good Weeks, Regions associates will work to support various non-profits and community organizations, provide financial education opportunities, collect needed goods and supplies for various organizations, and other activities.

“You may think the business of banking is about loans and deposits, but really the business of banking is developing strong communities,” said Rick Swagler, head of Regions External Affairs. “And when we tap into our associates’ passion to make a difference where they live and work, that is a powerful combination for good.”

Share the Good runs through October, with individual areas and cities setting aside one week per locale to observe this time. Specific activities include (but are not limited to):

  •     Teaching financial education to students of all ages
  •     Collecting donations of school supplies or food
  •     Volunteering at local food pantries and shelters
  •     Delivering meals on wheels
  •     Honoring local first responders with gifts and tokens of appreciation
  •     Participating in various walks and charitable drives

Regions commitment to Social Responsibility and giving back is catalogued in the company’s annual Social Responsibility Report. Also more information is available on the regions.com website about Regions and Community Affairs efforts. As part of those efforts, Regions provides associates with a paid day off each year – through its What a Difference a Day Makes program – to volunteer in their community.
