Founders of Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff Named 2012 Northern California Super Lawyers

For the fourth consecutive year, William A. Kershaw, C. Brooks Cutter and Eric J. Ratinoff -- all three founding partners of a Sacramento-based law firm--have been honored as "Super Lawyers" for the Northern California Super Lawyers magazine.

The annual list highlights outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who demonstrate excellence in their practice of law.  The attorneys are chosen by their peers and through independent research.

Bill Kershaw, who has spent more than 27 years representing clients in class actions and complex litigation in both state and federal courts, says this recognition is indicative of the quality of the legal work that the firm does year in and year out.

"I think the fact that we received this recognition reflects the reality that once we undertake to represent a client, we do what it takes to win no matter how long it takes.  This is exemplified by our recent $45 million verdict against Ford Motor Company, which took 13 years to obtain," said Kershaw.  "We commit exceptional resources to support and fight for our clients.  I think our peers recognize that to the extent they have bestowed the recognition of Super Lawyers upon us."

Brooks Cutter, who together with Eric Ratinoff successfully prosecuted a $7.6 million dollar medical malpractice verdict last October (the largest medical malpractice verdict in Sacramento County) on behalf of a young woman suffering a spinal cord injury, agrees.  "Justice takes time, often years, and requires the full commitment of a firm's talent and experience.  Our teams work tirelessly to fulfill that commitment."

"That all three of the firm's partners were honored is not lost on Ratinoff, who adds, "We're very passionate about what we do, together and individually.  It means something when you strive for excellence and your peers recognize your achievement of that goal."

Super Lawyers magazine is published in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., reaching more than 13 million readers.
The magazine is distributed to all attorneys in each state and to the ABA-accredited law school libraries.

Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff represents plaintiffs in a wide range of personal injury lawsuits, pharmaceutical injury lawsuits and complex litigation.  They have demonstrated their ability to devote substantial resources to lawsuits involving large corporations, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in recoveries for their clients and the classes they have represented.
