Beyonce Confirms Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Beyonce has confirmed rumors she is set to headline the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show. On her official website Tuesday, the singer wrote “Countdown to Touchdown” and posted a picture of herself with Feb. 3, 2013 written on her face. No other details have been released.

Madonna headlined last year’s halftime show. She was joined onstage by Cee Lo Green, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

Beyonce, who has a 9-month-old daughter with husband Jay-Z, most recently made headlines for pulling out of Clint Eastwood’s remake of “A Star is Born.” The 31-year-old was set to play a promising young star who falls in love with an older performer. She was forced to drop out of the project because of her busy schedule.

“I was looking forward to the production of 'A Star Is Born' and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood. For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together,” she told E! News in a statement.
