Christian Drug Rehabs Concerned About Alcoholic Women

Christian drug rehabs are concerned about the effects of alcohol on women. Christian Drug Treatment Center pastors have long understood that alcohol affects women much differently than it does men. In fact, because of the difference in metabolism between men and women. Christian drug rehab experts assert that women stand a much higher risk of developing deadly consequences from alcohol in a shorter amount of time than men.

One statistic that has Christian drug rehab pastors taking notice has been released by German researchers. They have found that death rates are 4.6 times higher for women who are alcohol dependent than those who are not. In comparison, the death rate for men who are alcohol dependent is 1.9 times higher than those men who are not dependent on alcohol.

Lead researcher John Ulrich says drinking contributes to risky behaviors, such as driving while intoxicated, obesity and smoking.

The study researched over 4,000 adults. The average age of death for women who were alcohol dependent was 60. For women who are not alcohol dependent, the average age of death is 80.

Christian drug rehabs are urging women who are beginning to drink heavily while in their 20’s or 30’s to seek help immediately. There is hope for addicted women, according to Christian drug treatment center experts. The disease can be arrested. Women who seek treatment early have a much higher chance of surviving and living to an age well beyond the average age of death for alcoholic women.
