Christian Drug Rehabs Enthused by Medicine Abuse Project

Christian drug treatment centers are applauding The Medicine Abuse Project, a campaign to raise awareness and educate the public about the severe prescription pill addiction problem in the United States.

Christian drug rehab doctors are enthused by The Medicine Abuse Project, because the problem is no longer being ignored. Additionally, the project is concentrating much of its effort on curbing the prescription pill abuse problem by teens.

Christian Treatment Centers have been admitting a substantial amount of prescription pill addicts in recent years. However, these Christian drug rehabs have been frustrated by the lack of awareness of the problem by the American public. The Medicine Abuse Project aims to change this, and pastors from Christian drug rehabs are enthused by their efforts so far.

Undoubtedly, society has become comfortable and familiar with the common use of prescription medications and over the counter medications. Because of the massive advertising campaigns of drug companies, children and teens are exposed to the images and slogans associated with prescription medications. Teenagers are more susceptible to ad campaigns and trusting what companies say about their products. Therefore, they are at risk for experimenting with prescription drugs that they find in their parents’ medicine cabinet.

The Medicine Abuse Project is targeting teens and children specifically to try to curb this problem. They are urging parents and educators to make information more available to teens concerning the dangers of prescription pill abuse.

Very often, teens do not see taking medicine as risky behavior, notes the Medicine Abuse Projects’ website. Because they see their parents taking medicine, and because they believe all medicine is tested in a scientific environment, they may think prescription medication is not as dangerous as street drugs.

All one has to do is take a look at the amount of recent overdoses around the country as a result of prescription pill abuse to recognize how untrue this belief can be. The Medicine Abuse Project is making awareness of the problem more easily accessible to teens and parents alike with their new campaign. They are hoping that the risks of prescription pill abuse will no longer be underestimated through their efforts. Christian drug rehabs hope for the same.
