Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights author Joel Gibbons

St. Joseph, MI – Joel Gibbons is an economist at heart. Through his years of experience as a commodity trader, Joel has seen it all. Joel expresses his observations and vast acquired knowledge through the art of writing.

“I was drawn to economics by my father. He came from poor circumstances in Boston. He worked his way up to become the director and vice president of one of the biggest corporations in America. He was a great believer in business,” explains Gibbons.

Joel’s passion for writing was always brewing. With Joel’s educational background and again his experience, he certainly has the knowledge to backup every insight he offers about the world of economics. Joel’s research and writings have been featured in countless professional journals including the University of Chicago Journal of Business and the Journal of Index Investing to name a few.

Joel’s educational accomplishments include receiving a doctoral degree in mathematics from Northwestern University and earning a doctorate in economics from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago. He also received his Bachelor’s in physics from Georgetown University. He has written on theory in economics and in mathematics, but integrative, multidisciplinary thinking is the focus of his books.

Joel founded Logistics Research after years of working as a bond trader and bond strategist with Harris Bank, eventually becoming the Vice President of the bank before starting his own company.

When asked about his proudest professional accomplishment Joel replies, “surviving and maintaining success as an entrepreneur in business.” In order to feed his passion for writing, share his experiences, and convey much deeper worldly messages, Joel authored five serious books drawn from his experience.

In his recent books, Joel shifts his focus from his previous works about economics and directs his attention towards more controversial topics regarding social sciences, spirituality, world politics, and international law. What pulls these ventures together is his insight into the Natural Law, which energizes all the social sciences. Joel covers these topics and more in Man and God in the World and The Empire Strikes a Match in a World Full of Oil.

The conversations will focus on these books, starting with Man and God and picking up The Empire. Man and God in the World expresses a spiritual vision, but brings into it the discoveries of the social sciences, asking what our social science has to tell us about the Spirit and what the spirit has to tell us about society.

The Empire then looks at the needs of the World and its International Law, against the backdrop of the world scene today. A trader spends his days reading the news because he needs to understand what it going on and where it leads. A trader is a scientist of economics and politics every day.

Joel Gibbons will be featured on Close-Up Talk Radio in a two-part interview with Doug Llewelyn at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/closeuptalkradioon Monday October 22nd and Wednesday October 31st. Both shows will air at 12pm EST on their respective dates. Listeners can dial-in at 347-996-3389.
