Employment and civil rights attorney Kevin M. Costello, founding partner of Costello & Mains, P.C., served as a faculty member on a panel offered by the Camden County Bar Association discussing the rights of ADHD persons and students under New Jersey education and discrimination laws. The September 18, 2012, two-hour event was well attended despite the weather, and focused on legal rights of persons with ADHD.
"I have a personal connection to this," says Kevin, "and so, in addition to my commitment to helping individuals and students with this disability be free of
discrimination in schools and in the workplace, I also want to make sure that I increase awareness about how to deal with this situation as it intersects with the law."
Kevin's participation in the panel was directed toward discussing the intersection between New Jersey's anti-discrimination laws and education laws, the right of the individual both in the workplace and in schools to be accommodated for ADHD and to be free of discrimination or harassment predicated upon the disability, and to generally increase awareness as to rights and remedies under the law for those individuals who are victimized by such discrimination or harassment.
