The Washington Wizards (20-14) got 26 points and 10 rebounds from Caron Butler while Antawn Jamison added 18 points and 9 boards to beat the Chicago Bulls (20-16) 113-103. Washington turned the ball over just eight times while the Bulls committed 19 turnovers. Kirk Hinrich scored 33 points for the Bulls and Ben Wallace grabbed 16 boards in the loss.
Jermaine O’Neal scored 23 points and had 15 rebounds and Jamaal Tinsley had 17 points and 13 assists as the Indians Pacers (20-16) used a strong third quarter to beat the Boston Celtics (12-22) 97-84. The Pacers held the Celtics to 14 points in the third while scoring 28 of their own. Tony Allen led Boston with 19 points while Al Jefferson had 13 rebounds.
Raymond Felton scored 18 points and handed out 7 assists while Emeka Okafor finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats (10-23) surprised the Detroit Pistons (20-13) 103-96. Adam Morrison had 16 points and Sean May had 14 points and 8 rebounds in the win. The Bobcats held the Pistons to just 8 points in the second quarter. Detroit was led by Richard Hamilton who scored 23 points.
The New York Knicks (16-21) used a big first half to ease past the Philadelphia 76ers (9-26) 106-99. New York held a 61-42 advantage at the half and cruised the rest of the way, shooting 53 percent from the field. Stephon Marbury scored 24 points and Eddy Curry had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Knicks. Samuel Dalembert led the 76ers with 18 points while grabbing 8 rebounds.
Chris Bosh scored 30 points, had 8 ebounds, and blocked 6 shots as the Toronto Raptors (16-20) beat the Milwaukee Bucks (16-19) 90-77. T.J. Ford added 15 points and 10 assists for the Raptors. Toronto limited the Bucks to just 31 points in the second half. Andrew Bogut scored 17 points and had 18 rebounds to lead the Bucks. Milwaukee is playing without their leading scorer Michael Redd.
Corey Maggette scored with under five-seconds remaining to lift the Los Angeles Clippers (17-19) past the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-16) 92-91. Maggette finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds while Elton Brand added another 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the win. Kevin Garnett did his part for the Timberwolves grabbing 17 rebounds and scoring 19 points.
The Dallas Mavericks (29-8) used a balanced attack to beat the Portland Trail Blazers () 99-74. Jason Terry scored 20 points while Josh Howard had 18 points and 8 rebounds in the Mavericks win. Dirk Nowitzki was limited to 26 minutes and 11 points on 3-6 shooting while Eric Dampier grabbed 10 rebounds for Dallas. Zach Randolph led the Trail Blazers with 21 points.
The resurgence of Dikembe Mutombu is in full effect, the Houston Rockets (23-13) center grabbed 19 rebounds and blocked 5 shots to lead his team past the Los Angeles Lakers (23-13) 102-77. Juwan Howard added 23 points and 11 rebounds in the Rockets win as they out-rebounded the Lakers 56-43 on the night. Kobe Bryant scored 20 points on 6-18 shooting for the Lakers.
Tony Parker scored 26 points and had 7 assists and Tim Duncan finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lift the San Antonio Spurs (26-11) past the Denver Nuggets (17-16) 92-83. Allen Iverson scored 33 points and dished out 6 assists while Marcus Camby had 16 rebounds in the Nuggets loss.
The Miami Heat (15-19) used a second half rally to knock off the Seattle Supersonics (13-25) 107-103. Trailing 55-48 at the break, the Heat were even after the third and went on to earn the victory in the fourth. Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 29 points and 13 assists while Udonis Haslem finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ray Allen had 29 points for the Supersonics.
Dwight Howard had another huge night with 30 points and 25 rebounds as the Orlando Magic (22-14) beat the Golden State Warriors (18-19) 91-76. Tony Battie finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds to aid in the Magic win. The Warriors shot 38 percent from the field as Monta Ellis led them with points while Andris Biedrins had 15 rebounds.
