North Carolina rallies past Virginia; Kansas gets big win over Oklahoma State; Duke drops second straight and Butler shocked in OT.

The #1 North Carolina Tar Heels (15-1) overcame a 9-point first half deficit to overcome the Virginia Cavaliers (9-5) 79-69. Tyler Hansbrough scored 18 points and had 7 rebounds while Brandan Wright added 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the newly anointed number one Tar Heels.

Brandon Rush led the #6 Kansas Jayhawks (14-2) past the #9 Oklahoma State Cowboys (15-2) 87-57. Rush paced the blowout with 18 points and 6 rebounds while Sasha Kaun added 16 points and 5 boards. The Jayhawks forced the Cowboys into 20 turnovers in the game, totaling 17 steals in the contest.

Aaron Gray scored 18 points and had 7 rebounds in the #7 Pittsburgh Panthers 59-49 win over the DePaul Blue Demons (10-7). Pitt shot 45 percent from the field while limiting DePaul to just 34 percent shooting. Mike Cook added10 points and 6 rebounds in the Panthers win.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (12-4) got 21 points and 6 rebounds from Ra’Sean Dickey to beat the #11 Duke Blue Devils (13-3) 74-63. Anthony Morrow added 19 points for the Jackets who sent Duke to their second straight loss. Tech shot 56 percent from the field and won despite turning the ball over 28 times in the game.

Josh Mayo scored 19 points, Scott Vandermeer added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Othyus Jeffers grabbed 11 boards to lift the Illinois-Chicago Flames (8-9) past the #12 Butler Bulldogs (14-2) 73-67 in overtime. The Flames dominated the glass with a 45-28 advantage and held the Bulldogs to just 32 percent shooting. AJ Graves did his part for Butler scoring 31 points on 11-27 shooting.

Shan Foster scored on a put-back at the buzzer to give the Vanderbilt Commodores (11-5) an 82-81 upset over the #16 Tennessee Volunteers (13-3). Foster finished with 14 points while Derrick Byars led the Commodores with 25 points. Chris Lofton led the Volunteers with 29 points. The loss snapped a 9-game winning streak for Tennessee.

The Marquette Golden Eagles snapped the #24 Connecticut Huskies 31-game home winning streak 73-69. Ousmane Barro scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Jerel McNeal added 19 points and 7 boards in the Marquette win. UConn shot just 31 percent from the field with Jeff Adrien their leading scorer at 18 points.

The #25 Texas Longhorns (12-3) scored 44 points in each half to blow out the Missouri Tigers (11-4) 88-68. Kevin Durant led the Longhorns with 34 points and 13 rebounds and D.J. Augustin finished with 13 points and 6 assists in the win. Marshall Brown led the Tigers with 24 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.
