Peoples Flowers Shops recognizes
America's Safe Schools Week and applauds Albuquerque's educational community and its work in making our schools safe for our kids.
America's Safe Schools Week is about appreciating the programs that work to curb bullying, prevent drug use, and increase attendance in our schools. The campaign this year runs from October 21 to 27 and is a joint effort between the National School Safety Center and local school, government, and community organizations.
Peoples Flowers commends the safe schools efforts in Albuquerque, particularly the anti-bullying programs implemented through the
Albuquerque Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative. For example, the Safe Schools Ambassadors program trains youth to intervene and work with each other to prevent bullying. It takes a community coming together to make strides against bullying.
"Albuquerque is at the forefront of developing effective anti-bullying initiatives," says Wayne Pollack, owner of Peoples Flowers. "We are proud of our parents, students, teachers, and administrators for stepping up to make our schools safe places for our kids to learn and thrive."
