Members of the NFL’s Denver Broncos are offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and filed charges against a suspect or suspects involved in the shooting death of teammate Darrent Williams.
Williams was shot in the early hours of New Year’s Day after leaving a party from the previous night. According to police reports there had been an altercation at the club involving friends of Williams and another group of men.
Police are questioning a man that they believe may be involved in the shooting. Willie Clark, 23, was arrested on Friday for an apparent parole violation but investigators believe he may have information surrounding the murder of Williams.
Clark is from the same neighborhood as a man currently serving time for drug charges. Clark’s connection to Brian Hicks, 28, intrigues police. Hicks is the registered owner of a 1998 Chevy Tahoe, the same vehicle witnesses have described as being involved in Williams’ murder.
In addition to his drug charges, Hicks is accused of shooting at a woman. That same woman was murdered a week before she was scheduled to testify against Hicks.
Officers have not named Clark as a suspect but believe he could help with the investigation
