Melissa Rycroft Performs On Dancing With The Stars After Neck Injury

Still in pain from a herniated disc suffered during Dancing with the Stars rehearsals on Sunday, Melissa Rycroft hit the dance floor Monday night to perform a freestyle routine with her assigned teammates -  Sabrina Bryan, Apolo Ohno and Shawn Johnson.

"I'm on a little medication right now. [But] I'm officially cleared to dance,” the former Bachelor star said.

Rycroft’s injury didn’t hold the team back from executing a near-perfect performance to Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit tune Call Me Maybe. Bruno Tonioli said that “it was almost impossible to distinguish the pros from the celebrities,” while Carrie Ann Inaba praised the team for their spirit. Tough judge Len Goodman declared the performance a “touchdown.” Team Call Me Maybe earned 29.5 points.

After the team freestyle, Rycroft and her partner Tony Dovolani filmed their tango for Tuesday night’s show. "I couldn't move my neck as much as I should have in the tango, but I'm happy that we were given the opportunity to go out there,” Rycroft, 29, said after the show.

“It was either that or be eliminated from the competition. What I was told was that it was not an option to just sit out one night. So if I didn't get clearance, it meant it (her injury) was severe enough not to let me come back,” she added. “I told Tony, 'I'm gonna go out and do it. And if something happens, I'm gonna squeeze your hand and that's your sign that something's going wrong.'”
