Two more Jolie-Pitt children are breaking into the entertainment business! According to reports, 8-year-old Pax and 7-year-old Zahara have landed small roles in Angelina Jolie’s upcoming Sleeping Beauty spinoff Maleficent. The pair’s younger sister Vivienne, 4, was already cast to play a young version of Elle Fanning’s Princess Aurora, while mom Angelina will star as the evil queen Maleficent.
"They have smaller parts," an insider tells Us Weekly magazine of Pax and Zahara’s acting debut.
Shiloh was also set for a small role, but she reportedly dropped out at the last minute. The 6-year-old made her big screen debut as a baby in dad Brad Pitt’s 2008 film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. "Shiloh was supposed to be in it, too, but she was bored and not in the mood during the day her part was supposed to happen, so she ended up not being in the film,” the insider adds.
Neither Jolie nor Pitt have confirmed the reports. The couple has two other children, 11-year-old Maddox and 4-year-old Knox.
Filming on Maleficent began in June. The story will be told from the queen’s perspective. Jolie, 37, previously spoke about her role to Entertainment Weekly. "It's not anti-princess. But it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman ... I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities,” she said.
Maleficent will also star Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton. The film is set to hit theaters on March 14, 2014.
