For the second time this year Bobby Brown is facing a DUI charge. Brown, the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, was taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving early Wednesday in Los Angeles after officers pulled him over for driving erratically. Officers reportedly required the New Edition singer to take a field sobriety test because they smelled alcohol. Brown was arrested and booked for suspicion of DUI because he failed the test.
Brown has not commented. The arrest comes just 7 months after he was arrested for DUI in the San Fernando Valley area. The 43-year-old avoided major jail time by accepting a deal in which he was required to serve 3 years of probation and complete a 90 day alcohol treatment program. He also paid a $390 fine.
Brown checked into rehab in August as part of the plea deal. At the time, his attorney Christopher Brown said that the singer “takes his agreement very seriously” and was “receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.” "Bobby's children and loved ones are very proud of him. Bobby is mentally in a good place,” Brown’s new wife Alicia Etheredge added.
