Creating Photos on Canvas Added To Popular Product Line-up at Printable Memories

An Oakland, Ca based photo gifts retailer now offering photo canvases.

Printable Memories, a Bay Area-based company specializing in custom photo gifts, is now offering photo-to-canvas gifts. Customers simply upload their photo to the Printable Memories website and the image will be rendered on high-quality canvas.

Brian Cash, the Founder of Printable Memories, forecasts that this new product will be a popular gift for the upcoming holiday season. “I think folks are getting tired of last-minute shopping and buying products just for the sake of finding something – anything – for someone they care about. People want to give gifts that are a bit more meaningful and that communicate a message to the recipient. Our photo canvases are a unique way to share memories with those we love.”

Professional artists and photographers are using photo on canvas technology more than ever. “Photographers have their photo featured on a canvas and add this to their portfolio and inventory. They don’t have to bother with the hassle of framing,” says Cash. “With these canvases, the image wraps around the side so it looks great from all angles, and they can be hung immediately. Plus it’s a classy, elegant way to present their work.”

While most companies print photos on the surface of the canvas, Printable Memories use a process called dye sublimation to embed the image into the canvas itself, resulting in higher-quality image reproduction and a product that’s built to last. “The colors are much brighter and more vivid with dye sublimation,” notes Cash. “As an added benefit, the photo won’t fade as much as a traditional print. Usually photo to canvas prints peel over time, too – these photo canvases are much more resilient.”

A photo canvas gift allows people to transform their photos into real works of art. People can use and arrange the canvases in different ways as well. “Some of our customers like to create a series of photo to canvas prints that communicate a theme,” explains Cash. “We can also print a single photo across several canvases that are then hung together on the wall. It’s fun – you can have an art gallery filled with memories in your own home.”
