The Florida Gators begin their national championship defense against Charleston Southern in their season opener on Saturday at 7pm in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The Gators return all-world quarterback Tim Tebow, who has won a national championship or the Heisman Trophy in each of his previous three seasons. However, he will playing for the first time without offensive coordinator Dan Mullen, who is now the head coach for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, leading receiver Louis Murphy and all-purpose dynamo Percy Harvin, both of whom are in the NFL.
Tebow will have his triumvirate of speedsters in the backfield in Chris Rainey, Jeffery Demps and Brandon James, who is also one of the best kick returners in college football.
On defense, UF return all 11 starters, including three preseason All-Americans: defensive end Carlos Dunlap, linebacker Brandon Spikes and cornerback Joe Haden.
