The company also appointed Michelle Gass, a 41-year-old who has worked for Starbucks for 13 years, to the newly created role of president of Seattle's Best Coffee.

John Culver, 49, will take over as president of Global Consumer Products and Foodservice. Culver, 48, has been a Starbucks partner (employee) since 2002, and previously served as president of Starbucks Coffee Asia Pacific. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said this is "the time to keep the positive momentum seen in our U.S. business and build on our global opportunities" and said the appointments will strengthen the company's leadership.
