#9 Oklahoma State Cowboys will host #13 Georgia Bulldogs in their respective season openers in Stillwater on Saturday at 3:30pm ET.
This is arguably the biggest non-conference game OSU has ever played, as they seek revenge against a season opening loss to UGA two years ago.
Led by quarterback Zac Robinson, tailback Kendall Hunter and wide receiver Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State was ninth in the country in scoring last year, averaging 40.8 points.
Robinson threw 25 touchdown passes and Hunter ran for 1,626 yards and 16 TDs, but Bryant is perhaps the Cowboys' most electrifying player since Barry Sanders in the 1980s, according to ESPN. As a sophomore in 2008, he caught 87 passes for 1,480 yards and including 19 touchdowns. He also averaged nearly 18 yards per punt return, finding the end zone twice.
While Oklahoma St. returns the key players on their high-scoring offense, UGA will have to replace quarterback Matthew Stafford, who became the No. 1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, and school legend Knowshon Moreno. Joe Cox will step in despite minimal playing time as a backup to Stafford, while Richard Samuel will likely start at running back.
Cox’s favorite target will be sophomore A.J. Green, who led the SEC with 56 catches and was tied for the conference lead with eight scores.
Oklahoma State has won 15 straight non-conference games at Boone Pickens Stadium and nine in a row under Gundy.
