In a shocking Dancing with the Stars elimination, one of Monday night’s perfect-scoring couples was given the boot on Tuesday’s results show. The first shock of the night came when it was revealed that none of the three of the lowest scoring stars – Kirstie Alley, Emmitt Smith and Kelly Monaco – were in danger of elimination. Instead, it was two stars who earned perfect 30s - Sabrina Bryan and Apolo Anton Ohno.
Ohno was declared safe and Bryan was eliminated. "Every single person can understand what it feels like to get a second chance," the Cheetah Girls star said after getting the boot. "This was that."
"For me, this was a dream come true," Van Amstel added. "Unfortunately our journey is up."
Speaking to Us Weekly magazine after the show, both Bryan and Van Amstel expressed their gratitude.
"The journey has been absolutely amazing, but to have to cut it short, that always sucks. Louis is incredible -- he really pushed me. To have someone so excited to teach you and dance with you is amazing. He was excited for what we were doing every step of the way and we both grew so much. I'm so incredibly grateful for this guy,” Bryan said.
“She put it all on the line, everything. She did more than I expected. She took it to a different place. No one can take that away," said Van Amstel. "It's almost indescribable."
The celebrities remaining to dance another week are Emmitt Smith, Melissa Rycroft, Kirstie Alley, Kelly Monaco, Apollo Anton Ohno, Shawn Johnson and Gilles Marini.
