Dirk Nowitzki scored 43 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while Jason Terry added another 30 points and handed out 7 assists as the Dallas Mavericks (30-8) beat the Indiana Pacers (20-17) 115-113 in overtime. Jermaine O’Neal led the Pacers with 26 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.
The Philadelphia 76ers (10-26) got 30 points from Willie Green and Andre Iguodala scored 26 points, had 6 rebounds, and dished out six assists to beat the Milwaukee Bucks (16-20) 110-97. The 76ers used a 64-41 second half to cruise past the Bucks. Earl Boykins scored 11 points and had 11 assists in his first game with Milwaukee while Andrew Bogut had a huge game with 20 points and 24 rebounds.
Joe Johnson scored 34 points on 13-17 shooting to lead the Atlanta Hawks (11-23) past the Detroit Pistons (20-14) 99-93. Marvin Williams finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists for the Hawks. Richard Hamilton topped the Pistons scorers with 32 points and the 37-year-old Dale Davis had 10 rebounds.
Backed by 27 points and 8 rebounds from Chris Bosh and 19 points from T.J. Ford the Toronto Raptors (17-20) beat the Boston Celtics (12-23) 95-86. The Raptors forced the Celtics into 21 turnovers in the game. Rajon Rondo was the leading scorer for the Celtics with 23 points as Boston’s starting five struggled.
Emeka Okafor was one rebound shy of a triple-double as he totaled 20 points, 9 rebounds, and a career high 10 blocks to lead the Charlotte Bobcats (11-23) past the New York Knicks (16-22) 126-110. All five of the Bobcats starters scored in double figures as Derek Anderson lead the way with 29 points. Stephon Marbury led the Knicks with 28 points.
The NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (14-22) played with just seven players but six of them scored in double figures to beat the Washington Wizards (20-15) 104-97. Desmond Mason led the Hornets with 22 points and 8 rebounds while Tyson Chandler finished with 1 0 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hornets. Gilbert Arenas had 23 points for the Wizards but shot just 5-19 from the field.
The Minnesota Timberwolves (18-16) held a 17 point lead at the end of the first quarter and held on to beat the Memphis Grizzlies (9-28) 116-110. Kevin Garnett led the Wolves with 28 points and 11 rebounds and Ricky Davis had 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists in Minnesota’s win. Mike Miller led the Grizzlies with 23 points and 7 assists.
Zach Randolph led the Portland Trail Blazers (15-23) past the Sacramento Kings (14-19) 95-87. Randolph finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds and Juan Dixon added 21 points for the Trail Blazers. Sacramento was up by 8 after the first quarter but Portland used a 26-16 second quarter to grab the lead. Kevin Martin led the Kings with 17 points.
The Houston Rockets (24-13) got 25 points and 7 rebounds from Shane Battier and Dikembe Mutombo continued to clean up the glass with 10 rebounds to beat the Denver Nuggets (17-17) 90-86. Tracy McGrady finished with 12 points and 11 assists in the win. Allen Iverson led the Nuggets with 28 points while Marcus Camby pulled down 24 rebounds. The Nuggets shot just 34 percent from the field in the loss.
Dwyane Wade had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists to lead the Miami Heat (16-19) past the Golden State Warriors (18-20) 118-96. Alonzo Mourning finished with 19 points and 8 rebounds while Jason Williams ended his night with 11 points and 12 assists. Baron Davis led the Warriors with 21 points and 10 assists and Matt Barnes had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant had 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists and Smush Parker had 26 points as the Los Angeles Lakers (24-13) beat the Orlando Magic (22-15) 109-106. Bryant scored 16 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter and Parker’s 26 were a career high. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 25 points and 10 boards while Grant Hill finished with 20 points on 8-11 shooting.
Ray Allen scored a career high 54 points in the Seattle Supersonics (14-25) 122-114 overtime win against the Utah Jazz (24-12). Allen added 10 rebounds to his line while Nick Collison finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds for the Sonics. Earl Watson dished out 16 assists in Seattle’s win. Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 32 points and 16 rebounds.
