The Emmy Award winning Fox hit show “24” kicks off its 6th season Sunday night with a two-hour episode that brings Keifer Sutherland back to the center of the small screen universe as agent Jack Bauer.
“24” attracted an average of 14 million viewers each episode last season and has enjoyed cult like status since inception. With the popularity and availability of past seasons on DVD many loyal fans have spent the past weeks refreshing their memories surrounding the government’s most significant agent.
Fox Network has the good fortune of not having to compete with the NFL’s AFC playoff match-up between the New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers. With that game scheduled for 4:30 on CBS it should be ending just in time for viewers to flip over to “24” when it begins at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Season six of “24” is set to begin with Jack bringing back some of the more graphic imagery available on television.
The two-hour premier on Sunday will be followed up with a two-hour episode on Monday at 8:00 p.m. EST.
