The decision was announced by head coach Rich Rodriguez during his weekly news conference on Monday but he also stressed that junior QB Nick Sheridan would see time under center as well.
Notre Dame is coming off a 35-0 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack, a game in which junior quarterback Jimmy Clausen threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns and Michael Floyd caught four passes for 189 yards and three TDs.
