College Football News: Michigan Wolverines to Start Freshman QB Tate Forcier Against Notre Dame

After completing 13 of 20 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns against Western Michigan on Saturday quarterback Tate Forcier has been named as the starting signal caller for the Michigan Wolverines when the school faces the Notre Dame Fighting Irish next week at Michigan.

The decision was announced by head coach Rich Rodriguez during his weekly news conference on Monday but he also stressed that junior QB Nick Sheridan would see time under center as well.

Sheridan had a rough start to the 2009 season, missing on both his pass attempts and being intercepted once.

Notre Dame is coming off a 35-0 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack, a game in which junior quarterback Jimmy Clausen threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns and Michael Floyd caught four passes for 189 yards and three TDs.
