Robert Pattinson sidestepped questions concerning his relationship with Kristen Stewart on Thursday’s Today show, much like Stewart herself did in an appearance on the show Wednesday. Both Pattinson and Stewart were on to promote the upcoming Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2.
"So yesterday I asked Kristen if you two had gotten back together," co-anchor Savannah Guthrie said. "So now I want to ask you."
Pattinson answered with a question of his own. "I want to ask, because we get asked it all the time. Who is actually asking? Is it in your contract?” he asked.
Guthrie quickly turned her line of questioning away from Stewart, asking instead about the lack of privacy that comes with fame. "Does it get annoying? Is it a high price to pay?” she asked. “You've gotten these films, it's made you incredibly famous, there's been so much good with it -- but it is personal now."
"It doesn't have to be," Pattinson, 26, replied. "I could just sit here and talk nonsense about...getting old, needing a nap."
Both Pattinson and Stewart have been close mouthed about the status of their relationship since Stewart admitted to a brief fling with married director Rupert Sanders in July. Pattinson reportedly ended their 3 year relationship briefly, but they are thought to be dating again. They were recently spotted out kissing, hugging and holding hands.
Guthrie questioned Stewart about the romance on Wednesday. "Kristen, you have so many fans and they will be mad at us if we don't ask you. Are you back together with Robert Pattinson?" Guthrie asked.
“Funny you mention that,” Stewart joked before turning serious.
"I'm going to just let people watch whatever little movie they think our lives are,” she said. “Keep 'em guessing, I always say."
