Courtney Robertson is happy to have moved on from Bachelor Ben Flajnik. The model, who accepted Flanik’s proposal on The Bachelor earlier this year, says the isolation and extravagant dates tricked her in to falling for the 30-year-old winemaker, so it came as somewhat of a shock when she discovered he was not so charming after all.
"In many ways, I felt brainwashed. You're so closed off!" Robertson tells People magazine.
The 29-year-old says she eventually realized some of the sweet things Flajnik did, like having her favorite snack on a date, came at the direction of the producer. When the show came to an end, Flajnik apparently wasn’t the romantic guy Robertson thought he was. "Ben said he was 'all picnicked out,'" she says.
"I put up with more than I should,” Robertson adds. "I've never experienced heartache like this. We had baby names picked out!"
It didn’t take long for Robertson to move on with Bachelorette alum Arie Luyendyk Jr. the new couple was spotted out together shortly after Robertson and Flajnik announced their split in October. “He's a cool guy," Robertson says of Luyendyk. "I'm just trying to figure out the next step."
For his part, Flajnik is shocked at Robertson’s actions with Luyendyk, but glad about the split. "I see certain things in the media and I wonder, did I ever really know her? I try to avoid it all together,” he tells People magazine.
"I look at these staged photos of the two of them and I'm like: Why is she doing this? The girl that I loved never wanted to be famous and I look at these set-ups and I think I got out at the right time,” he adds.
