It’s over for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. The couple of nearly 2 years quietly called it quits last week, according to multiple internet reports. E! News first reported the breakup, and then insiders confirmed the split to People magazine and Us Weekly. Apparently, Gomez had “trust issues.”
"She broke up with him about a week ago. With them being apart so much it got complicated. She had some trust issues. It's not easy, but the relationship needed to end,” an insider told People.
“It's been a really challenging experience over the last year because of their crazy schedules. Selena definitely had some major trust issues with Justin,” another source told Us Weekly.
"Right now it is a break and tomorrow it could be back on knowing them . . . it's hard to say how they will end up," the source added. "Maybe she feels more serious about it this time. We'll see."
Gomez, 20, and Bieber, 18, appeared publicly as a couple for the first time at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in February 2011. They had been dating for several months at the time.
Neither Gomez nor Bieber has commented on the latest reports.
