The Michigan Harvest Gathering is The Food Bank Council of Michigan's annual campaign that is being held to raise food and monies to support food banks in the state and to feed hungry families all over the state. In order to support this important campaign, Narconon Freedom Center will be running a food drive to gather donations for Food Bank of South Central Michigan by competing with other groups participating in the event to see who can bring in the most food to help Michigan residents that are in need.
This is just one of the upcoming events that the center will be helping with to assist the community and help residents while they promote National Recovery Month in September and Red Ribbon Week during the month of October.
“We have been busy in the community helping those that need food, school supplies, etc,” says Megan Werner Brennan, Dissemination Supervisor at Narconon Freedom Center. “And during this time we have been letting the community know that we are a resource for anyone who needs help with substance abuse issues.”
“Some of our clients have even been getting involved in the activities in order to give back to the community,” she adds.
This year will mark the 19th year that the Michigan Harvest Food Gathering has been going on in the state. All donations will be delivered the first week of October to the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.
