NBA Scores from Jan. 16; Jannero Pargo, Dirk Nowitzki, and Ray Allen lead their teams to wins.
Jannero Pargo scored 25 points and Desmond Mason added 21 points and 9 rebounds as the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (15-22) beat the Orlando Magic (22-17) in overtime 84-78. The Hornets were able to hold the Magic to just three points in the extra frame to get the win. Both teams shot poorly throughout the night, the Hornets managed to shoot 37 percent while the Magic shot just 34 percent from the floor. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Dirk Nowitzki had 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists to lead the Dallas Mavericks (32-8) past the Houston Rockets (25-14) 109-96. Josh Howard added 28 points and 7 rebounds while Jason Terry handed out 8 assists in the win. The Mavericks hit 42 percent of their three-point attempts on the night. Tracy McGrady led the Rockets with 45 points and 7 assists in the loss.
The Seattle Supersonics (15-25) got 16 points from Chris Wilcox and another 14 from Nick Collison to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers (23-14) 101-96.Both Wilcox and Collison had 12 rebounds and Ray Allen scored 22 points and dished out 11 assists for the Sonics. LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 30 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.
