In honor of America Recycles Day on Nov. 15, the New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce recognized 34 businesses across the state for their recycling work. Peoples Flower Shops is proud to be one of the businesses chosen for this honor.
"We are recognizing these 34 companies for their outstanding efforts to reduce, reuse or recycle their waste and as a result lessen their impact on our natural heritage," said NMGCC president Lawrence Rael. "Good stewardship of our natural resources is responsible corporate leadership in our community."
Leftover greenery from Peoples Flowers arrangements goes to Soilutions, a local green waste recycler and compost manufacturer. Peoples' recycling work is tied to the company's "Better World Initiative," a program dedicated to preserving the environment for the future.
"We are pleased to be recognized for our innovative recycling efforts," says Wayne Pollack, owner of Peoples Flowers. "I commend our employees for their dedication to recycling green waste, cardboard, and paper from our stores."
