NHL Scores from Jan. 17; Daniel Paille, Henrik Zetterberg, Jere Lehtinen, and Tyler Arnason lead their teams to wins.

The Buffalo Sabres (32-11-4) scored three goals in the final period to beat the Boston Bruins (21-19-4) 6-3. Daniel Paille scored a pair of goals and Maxim Afinogenov added a goal and an assist in the Sabres win. Phil Kessel scored two goals for the Bruins including the game-tying goal one minute into the third period but the Sabres responded with three unanswered goals to grab the win. Jaroslav Spacek had two assists for Buffalo.

The Detroit Red Wings (30-12-5) scored four goals in the second period to overcome a 2-1 first period deficit and beat the Nashville Predators (32-12-3) 5-3. Henrik Zetterberg scored two goals and added an assist for the Red Wings while Pavel Datsyuk assisted on four goals. With Nashville up 3-2 in the second period Detroit ran three straight goals to take the lead and the game.

Jere Lehtinen scored the first and last goals for the Dallas Stars (28-18-1) in their 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames (24-17-4). Joel Lundqvist and Stu Barnes added second period goals for the Stars. Kristian Huselius scored a power play goal for the Flames in the first period.

Tyler Arnason had three assists and Paul Stastny had two goals as the Colorado Avalanche (23-20-3) built a 4-1 lead and held on to beat the Phoenix Coyotes (21-23-2) 4-3. Milan Hejduk added a goal and two assists in the Avalanche win. Georges Laraque had a goal and an assist in the Coyotes loss.
